Connecting With Congregants

Kansans across the state are ready to put their faith into action to address climate change.  You know your congregation best, so you can decide how to educate members about creation care or environmental stewardship.

Kansas IPL offers resources to help you start this critical conversation with your membership:

1.  Our “Cool Congregations” program – This innovative program inspires members of your congregation to reduce their family’s carbon footprint, by committing to a 10% energy-reduction tithe.  Download our brochure, and stay tuned for future trainings near you!  Cool Congregations Brochure (.pdf)

2.   Speakers’ Bureau – Kansas IPL steering committee members are happy to come to your congregation and speak on a range of topics – from joining Kansas IPL to energy-saving tips to the latest climate change science.  Contact us!

3.   Videos for Educational Events – Interfaith Power and Light’s national campaign website features several great videos to use with your adult education groups or environmental education programs.

4.   Sermon Starters - This list has everything you need to plan a creation-honoring worship service.  Includes links to example sermons, hymns, and scripture resources.  Kansas IPL Sermon Resources List (.pdf)
